Before your first run
- Open Gameplay Settings and check the auto-save interval. The current default is 45 minutes.
- If look movement feels delayed, test Settings → Controls → Look Input Smoothing.
- In co-op, agree on a small set of wall marks and one player who calls route changes.
- Remember that proximity chat can be heard by enemies according to the official game description.
Mark routes, do not memorize a fixed map
The official description says corridors can change and that players can use spray, chalk, dropped objects, old paper maps, and a compass. Treat a mark as evidence of where the team has been, not a guarantee that the same corridor will remain attached to it.
Understand the first resource loop
Steam confirms scrap metal, frayed wires, harvested creature parts, crafted gear, and traps. A cautious first run should identify what can be gathered, keep enough resources for survival, and avoid trusting an uncited recipe list. The crafting guide separates confirmed materials from unverified recipes.
Use injectors carefully
Some injectors are labeled with abilities such as dash, rage, night vision, double jump, or extra health; others are not labeled. The store description presents unknown injectors as a risk, so do not assume every syringe is a straightforward upgrade.
If you get physically stuck
The August 30 update added /imstuck to the text-chat UI. Use that developer-provided command before relying on an unofficial movement exploit. The command is for getting unstuck; it is not a documented fix for a missing character or lost gear.
Know what is currently playable
The Early Access page names Junkyard, Jungle, and Swamp as the three current layers or biomes. The August 30 update added mines and caves to Layer 2 (Jungle). Community questions about exact routes can change with patches, so this guide does not invent a path that the official sources do not confirm.
